CRM Integration Configuration – FAQ
This guide answers common technical and operational questions about how Vieu integrates with CRM systems like HubSpot and Salesforce.
If you're evaluating the integration from a RevOps, Admin, or technical perspective, this article explains how it works and what’s possible after setup.
For installation steps, refer to:
1. Is the Vieu CRM integration native or iframe-based?
Vieu uses a native CRM integration.
For HubSpot:
1. A Connected App is installed
2. An App Card is placed on Company and Contact records
3. The card communicates securely with Vieu via APIs
For Salesforce:
1. A managed package is installed
2. Native Lightning components are added to Account and Contact pages
This is not an iframe overlay.
The integration uses each CRM’s official app framework.
2. Does Vieu overwrite existing CRM data?
No.
• Existing CRM records are never overwritten
• Vieu follows approved field mapping rules
• New records are created only if allowed in configuration
• All updates respect your property mapping
3. How does Vieu prevent duplicate record creation?
Duplicate prevention is handled through:
• Admin-approved Property Mapping
• Unique identifiers (Email, Domain, LinkedIn URL)
• CRM-native matching logic
We strongly recommend mapping LinkedIn URL fields for both Contacts and Companies to improve matching accuracy.
4. Can customers build reports in the CRM using Vieu data?
Yes.
Once Vieu data syncs into CRM properties, you can build reports such as:
• Companies created or influenced by Vieu
• Contacts created via Vieu
• Connection status summaries
• Introduction status breakdowns
• Task completion metrics
Reporting is built using standard CRM reporting.
5. Can CRM workflows or automations be triggered using Vieu data?
Yes. Since Vieu syncs data into CRM properties:
• Workflows can trigger based on Connection status
• Workflows can trigger based on Introduction status
• Tasks and notifications can be automated
• Deal updates can be triggered

6. What permissions are required to install the integration?
For Salesforce, the connecting admin needs:
- Permission to connect and authorize third-party applications
- Read, write, and edit access to Account, Contact, Lead, and Opportunity objects
- Read and write access to Vieu's own custom objects and fields
- Permission to run Vieu's package code (Apex) inside your org
Installation is typically handled by RevOps or a CRM Admin. Engineering involvement is not required.
7. What Salesforce data does Vieu access, and why?
Updated table:

| User | Read only | Resolve ownership for Accounts, Contacts, and Vieu's custom connection records |

| Apex execution | Run package code | Lets Vieu's package create Tasks and update fields |
Vieu doesn't request access to Cases or any object outside this list.
8. Is the integration bi-directional?
Yes.
Vieu → CRM
• Introduction status updates sync
• Pin status updates sync
CRM → Vieu
• Pin status changes reflect instantly
• Introduction status updates reflect instantly
9. How long does sync take?
Individual sync: Typically 2–3 minutes
Bulk exports: May take longer depending on volume
Status updates usually sync in near real time.
10. Can admins control record creation?
Yes. Admins can configure:
• Whether new Contacts are created
• Whether new Companies are created
• Task creation settings
• User ownership mapping
• Property mapping rules
Nothing is created without configuration approval.
